Speaking on the rumors, APR FC Chairman Brig. Gen. Déo Rusanganwa described the reports as “unfounded,” questioning their credibility. “That goalkeeper is just rumors.
How can APR really sign a keeper who was released by a team ranked 18th in the Ethiopian University Championship, Welwalo Adrigat University FC?” he said.
The statement comes amid growing online chatter suggesting APR FC were considering a move for the Super Eagles goalkeeper following his exit from Welwalo Adrigat University FC.
Olorunleke, part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, continues to attract attention due to his national team credentials despite uncertainty over his club career.
APR FC, one of Rwanda’s most successful football clubs, has made it clear that Olorunleke is not on their radar, putting an end to the circulating transfer speculation.
