The Maliya Boys secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Ikorodu City on Matchday 24 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano, thanks to a 29th-minute strike from forward Uche Moses, who converted a precise cross from Hillary Ekawu. This goal marked Moses’ second of the season.

The win extended Barau’s unbeaten run to five matches and lifted them to 13th place on the NPFL table with 30 points from 24 games, easing relegation concerns.

Agagbe, speaking after the match, said, “Being unbeaten in five matches is not easy. Our management, players, and fans have done well in supporting us at this moment, and I must commend them.” He added that the team remains focused on the remaining fixtures and is determined to finish the season strongly.

Looking ahead, Barau FC will travel to face Rivers United on Matchday 25 before returning home to host Kun Khalifat FC on Matchday 26 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Agagbe remains confident that his team will successfully secure its NPFL status, reiterating, “As I told you before, Barau FC will escape relegation within seven matches. Now we have just two matches remaining from what I earlier stated.”
