Sports247 reports that the 18-year-old Sowunmi was beaming wit delight after he signed the papers on a contract that takes him from one end of London to the north, with high hopes of his career also moving higher.
Sowunmi is already looking forward to rapid progress for him at Spurs, after ten years with The Hammers, where he progressed through all the age groups before winning the U18 Premier League Cup last season.
He made a huge personal mark with assists on both goals in the final against Reading, but decided to leave West Ham early, though his current deal is expected to expire at the end of this season.
West Ham have negotiated a sell-on clause for the youngster, who is versatile in attack, can play out wide or in the number 10 role, and was West Ham’s U18s top scorer last season.
“I’m really excited to be here. I know a lot about the club from playing against them over the years. It’s a great club with a lot of history, so I’m really, really excited to be here,” said Sowunmi.
Sports247 learnt further that Sowunmi’s transfer to Spurs comes just six months after he signed his first professional contract with West Ham.
