The move comes as the Kano-based club intensifies efforts to steer clear of the relegation zone in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Atule, 27, arrives with a wealth of experience, having featured for some of Nigeria’s top sides including Enyimba FC, Lobi Stars and Katsina United, as well as gaining exposure in the Egyptian top flight.
Across his career, the forward has amassed over 100 senior appearances and contributed more than 50 goals and assists, underlining his pedigree and reliability in front of goal.
His signing is seen as a timely boost for Barau FC, who currently sit 15th on the NPFL table with 27 points from 23 matches.
Goals have been a major concern for the club this season, and Atule’s proven ability to lead the line, hold up play and convert chances could prove decisive in the run-in.
The striker is expected to be included in the matchday squad for the clash against Ikorodu City, a fixture that could have significant implications for Barau’s survival hopes.
With the league entering a critical phase, the club will be banking on Atule’s experience and composure to inspire improved results.
As the battle at the bottom of the table tightens, Barau FC will hope their latest acquisition can make an immediate impact and help push the team further away from danger.
