Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Emekayi stressed that Rivers United travelled with one objective in mind — to win.

“We did not come here to do chimpwena (sightseeing). We came here to play football and to win,” the skipper declared.

The statement underlines the determination within the Rivers United camp as they prepare for a challenging away tie in the group stage of Africa’s elite club competition.

The Pride of Rivers are aware of the task ahead but remain confident in their preparation and mindset.

Emekayi’s comments were, however, met with a confident response from the opposition. Dynamos head coach Oswald Mutapa stated that his team is in good form and ready to rise to the occasion, setting the stage for an intense contest between both sides.

Despite the hosts’ confidence, Rivers United are drawing belief from their experience on the continental stage and their recent performances, with the team eager to make a strong statement away from home.

The Nigerian champions know that a positive result in Zambia could significantly boost their ambitions in the CAF Champions League.
