Huge expectations are already being placed on the Nigerian-born duo of Hakeeb Adelakun and Francis Okoronkwo, as both players settle down to life at Doncaster Rovers in England’s League One, Sports247 reports.
While 21-year-old Okoronkwo spent the first half of the current season on loan at Lincoln City and will now play for Doncaster on loan until the end of the campaign, Adelakun arrives on an 18-month deal.

The 29-year-old Adelakun scored nine goals in 19 league appearances for the South Yorkshire side during a previous loan spell in 2024 and rejoins them after a short stint with Cheltenham in League Two.
Okoronkwo, who still has a contract with top-flight side, Everton, scored twice in 20 appearances for The Imps, one of which came against Doncaster in November, which apparently attracted him to the team.
He is one of two Lincoln loanees to have their spells with the club cut short last week, but is now expected to link forces with Adelakun in helping to revitalize Grant McCann’s team, which is five points adrift of safety in League One.
Expectations are rife, though, that the vibrant combination which Adelakun and Okoronkwo will bring into the squad can provide a spark for the revival of the club’s fortunes.
