Sports247 gathered that the Nigerian-born British pugilist was discharged from hospital just two days after the fatal accident, as he was deemed fit to recuperate at home.

A joint statement by the governments of Ogun and Lagos States disclosed that Joshua was ‘heavy hearted’ over the loss of his friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, who died in the accident along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The statement added that, immediately he left the hospital located at Victoria Island in Lagos, ‘AJ’ promptly visited the funeral firm where the bodies of his friends were being prepared for repatriation.

However, British tabloid, Daily Mail reported that a close associate of Joshua’s disclosed that the next concern is how the former two-time world champ will deal with the trauma of losing two friends.

The publication reported in part, “(Concern over the boxer’s trauma were raised by) Kolawole Omoboriowo who has known AJ for eight years and broke the news to his family about the accident.

“He coordinates Joshua’s logistics in Nigeria and described the crash as ‘a crazy nightmare’ and said Ayodele, one of the deceased, was ‘like a twin brother’ to the boxer.

“Omoboriowo told Sky News: ‘What is actually in my head now is, How do we get AJ out of that traumatised situation?’ That is just the only thing that everybody is worried about right now.”

Sports247 gathered further that the police in Ogun State are considering legal action against the driver of the SUV that Joshua and his friends were travelling in on allegations of reckless driving and manslaughter.

Similar action is also set to be taken against the man who parked the truck that the SUV ran into, but he is said to have gone into hiding.
