AFCON 2025: Supporters Club Member Habeeb Maiyaki Excites Super Eagles’ Camp With Nigerian Delicacies

A member of the football supporters club, Habeeb Maiyaki is enjoying wide patronage and making huge profits from selling Nigerian delicacies at the Super Eagles’ camp in Fes, Morocco.

Maiyaki, who hails from Niger State, disclosed this in an exclusive chat with Sports247, during which he also revealed that the players and their fans in Morocco have responded favourably to his supplies, which remind them all about home.

Maiyaki disclosed, “I came to the camp to witness it live, the way I used to see it on television at home. I came here with a lot of Nigerian delicacies, and I’ve been doing well with them.

“I came with things like kilichi and a lot of other Nigerian local foods. Whatever you can find to eat in Nigeria, I have it for sale here, and I’m doing well with it.

“I thank the Nigerians who always patronise me very well. I have been in the supporters club for the past 15/16 years, following the Super Eagles to whichever country they go to play.”

Maiyaki also revealed that he was inspired to start selling delicacies in the Super Eagles’ camp because he had to find a way of replenishing his funds, after spending a lot of money on travelling far and wide to support the team wherever they play.

He explained, “I decided to add value to my trips, so that my expenses would be less. That’s why I go with these delicacies to sell at the Eagles’ camps.

“I was even with them in Russia, and I sold these same delicacies there. Now that we are in Morocco, anytime someone calls me, I will deliver these delicacies to them at their doorstep.”

The jocular football fan and businessman ended with an insight into the mood radiating through the Eagles’ camp ahead of their last group clash with Uganda on Tuesday, heading into which he said the players are determined to win again.

“I went to the camp on Sunday. They were given the day off to rest and see their families. I understand that some of them were allowed to go and see their loved ones who recide in Morocco.

“I met about 10/15 of them, and they enjoyed my food. Their spirit was high, but I told them that their game versus Tunisia was dangerous towards the end.

“All of them agreed with me but said they were happy that they got victory at the end. They also agreed that they must do better against Uganda on Tuesday,” Maiyaki stated.
