The Tennessee sophomore, who announced herself on the collegiate scene after winning the National 200m title in 2023, showed exceptional early-season form as she powered away from the field and secured her place in the final with ease.
Okwose’s winning margin underscored her superiority on the day, finishing far ahead of Chayse-Madison Haire, who clocked 7.54s for second place. Her explosive run not only signals a strong comeback to indoor competition but also places her among the top performers to watch this season.
The 19-year-old sprinter is expected to return to the track later today for the final, where she will look to convert her blistering heat performance into a commanding victory.
