Anthony Joshua Gains Support From UK-based Boxing Promoter Mike Ofo

A Nigerian-born boxing promoter based in the United Kingdom, Mike Ofo has spoken out in defense of former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua for always honouring his promises.

Sports247 gathered that, while many boxing buffs are up against Joshua for a agreeing to fight social media influencer, Jake Paul on the 19tth of this month.

In contrast with what he referred to Joshua’s honorable track records, Ofo pointed at current champion, Oleksandr Usyk, who he accused of betraying a pledge he gave Fabio Wardley.

Ofo pointed out that he had reached an agreement with Usyk to fight Wardley, who is under the promoter’s umbrella, but the Ukrainian allegedly pulled out at the last moment.

The Nigerian promoter has now pointed at Joshua as a credible example to rubbish the larger-than-life image with which Usyk has been heralded in recent months.

He went further still, flatly accusing Usyk of being scared of Wardley, then slammed the Ukrainian pugilist for recently comparing Joshua to a Rolls Royce and Jake Paul to a Fiat.

Ofo declared: “I’ll go as far as to say Usyk is a Dodge; yet he wants to fight Wilder, who’s the old jalopy on the way to the scrapyard.

“Wilder’s lost however many fights in his last five, while you’ve got a real live opponent in Fabio. You just avoid your mandatory like that?

“Look at AJ, he honoured his mandatory. Tyson Fury, he honoured his mandatory. The Brits honour our mandatories. But Usyk does not.”
