Smart City FC captain, Tunde Ajedokun, has credited the team’s cohesion and unyielding work ethic for their hard-earned away draw against high-flying Beyond Limits FC in Ikenne, describing the result as a testament to their collective resolve.
The long-serving skipper, who marshalled the Lagos side from the back, delivered a commanding performance that proved crucial in keeping one of the Nigeria National League’s most organised sides at bay.
Ajedokun revealed that Smart City travelled to Ikenne fully intent on snatching all three points but remained satisfied with what he called a “well-deserved and strategic point” against a notoriously disciplined opponent.
“We came here for the maximum points, no doubt, but our unity and fighting spirit ensured we didn’t leave empty-handed,” he said. “This team showed character, resilience and maturity. Everyone sacrificed for one another.”
The defender also reserved praise for the technical bench, noting that the game plan crafted by the coaching crew was executed with precision despite the pressure of playing away from home.
Smart City’s gritty performance further strengthens their reputation as one of the NNL’s most improved sides this season, as they continue pushing for a strong finish in a fiercely competitive campaign
