Chiamaka Wins Third Award in a Row
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie claimed the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive year, reinforcing her status as one of Africa’s most consistent performers.
Her heroics for both club and country ensured Nigeria once again maintained a strong presence on the CAF Awards podium.
Osimhen, Ajibade Fall Short
The night proved less rewarding for Victor Osimhen and Rasheedat Ajibade, who both fell short in their respective categories.
Ajibade, captain of the Super Falcons, missed out on the Women’s Player of the Year crown, finishing second to Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak, whose leadership and impressive performances for the Atlas Lionesses earned her the continent’s top women’s honour.
Acraf Hakimi Ends Nigeria Two Years Grip of Men Best Footballer Award
Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi was voted Men’s Player of the Year, beating former winners Osimhen and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah. Hakimi’s victory ended Nigeria’s two-year hold on the award, previously won by Osimhen in 2023 and Ademola Lookman in 2024.

Morocco enjoyed a dominant night on home soil, securing double success in the youth categories.
