Osigwe Ends Debut Swedish Season On a High With First Goal For Djurgården

Nigeria’s Goodness Osigwe delivered a dream finish to her maiden campaign in Sweden, scoring her first goal for Djurgården in their commanding 3–0 win over Växjö DFF as the 2025 league season wrapped up on Sunday.

The hosts set the tone early through Urara Watanabe’s 12th-minute opener, before Mimmi Wahlström doubled the advantage just five minutes into the second half.

Osigwe, who swapped Edo Queens for the Stockholm-based side at the start of the season, entered the game in the 70th minute and wasted no time making an impression.

With the match winding down, the Nigerian forward showed composure beyond her years, slotting home Djurgården’s third goal in the 90th minute — a milestone moment that marked her first strike for the club.

The victory cemented Djurgården’s fourth-place finish, ending the campaign seven points shy of the European qualification spots secured by Malmö FF.

For Osigwe, the late-season breakthrough adds momentum heading into her sophomore year, signalling her growing adaptation and potential impact in the Damallsvenskan.
