Oyo Sports Director Hails Crown FC After Dominant NNL Opening-Day Victory

Oyo State Director for Sports Facilities, Mr. Raheem Fatai Adeniyi, has heaped praise on Crown FC following their outstanding 3–0 triumph over Heartland FC in the opening fixture of the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

Speaking on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaja Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke, Mr. Raheem described the Ajilete Warriors’ performance at the Soun Stadium, Ogbomoso, as a “statement win” that reflects the team’s readiness for a promotion push.

The encounter drew an impressive crowd, with home fans creating a charged atmosphere that mirrored the team’s dominance on the pitch.

He highlighted the players’ resilience, discipline, and unity, commending the technical crew for their tactical organisation and the squad for flawlessly executing the game plan.

According to him, the Commissioner—absent due to the National PDP Convention in Ibadan—is highly impressed with the convincing start to the campaign.

Mr. Raheem reiterated the Oyo State Government’s strong commitment to Crown FC, assuring that this season will witness enhanced welfare packages, including improved allowances, salaries, and other financial responsibilities, to keep the players motivated.

While urging the team to maintain their momentum, he reminded the squad of the bigger picture. He emphasized that Governor Seyi Abiodun Makinde is keenly following their progress and is optimistic about Crown FC securing promotion back to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the end of the season.

The emphatic Match Day One victory sets a positive tone for the Ogbomoso-based side as they aim to restore their top-flight status.
