The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) Judo team showcased outstanding form at the ongoing 27th Nigerian University Games (NUGA) in Jos, delivering one of the institution’s best performances in recent years with a rich medal haul across several weight categories.

The institution’s depth and determination were further highlighted as they picked up two bronze medals — one in the women’s 48kg category after overcoming Bayero University, Kano (BUK), and another in the women’s 78kg event against Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

Coach Korede praised her athletes for their commitment and discipline, noting that the results reflected months of preparation and teamwork.

“We are proud of our judokas. Their effort and teamwork have paid off, and we are hopeful of adding more medals as the competition progresses,” she said.

With their strong showing in Jos, LASUED’s judokas have not only brought pride to their institution but also established the university as a rising force in Nigerian university judo.
