Nigerian international Umar Sadiq could be set for a mid-season move away from Real Sociedad, as reports suggest the forward is on the radar of several La Liga clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
According to transfer expert Ekrem Konur, Sadiq’s future in the Basque club appears uncertain, with the 28-year-old struggling for consistent playing time this season.

Despite being tied to Sociedad until 2028, sources indicate that the club may be open to letting him leave, given his limited minutes and relatively high wages.
A number of Spanish sides — including Sevilla, Valencia, Getafe, and Elche — are said to be monitoring the situation closely, eyeing a potential deal for the Super Eagles striker once the window opens.
Sadiq joined Real Sociedad in 2022 amid high expectations but has endured a turbulent spell marked by injuries and fierce competition for attacking roles. Since recovering from a long-term injury, he has struggled to recapture the form that once made him one of La Liga’s most promising forwards.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on the horizon, Sadiq is reportedly eager to secure regular first-team football — a move that could reignite his career and strengthen his chances of reclaiming a consistent spot in the Nigerian national team.
If a transfer materializes, it could mark a pivotal turning point for Sadiq, offering him both a fresh start and the opportunity to reassert himself among Spain’s elite attackers.
