Kwara United have announced the dismissal of their Technical Adviser, Coach Tunde Sanni, following a string of disappointing results that culminated in a 1–0 home defeat to Abia Warriors in Ilorin on Sunday.
The decision, which took many fans and pundits by surprise, comes amid growing pressure on the team after a difficult start to the season.

The Harmony Boys have endured a turbulent campaign, marked by their elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup after a 5–3 aggregate loss to Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, and an inconsistent run in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Club insiders revealed that the management lost confidence in Sanni’s ability to turn things around, especially after the team’s continued struggles in front of their home fans. His frustration had become evident in recent weeks, particularly following the club’s continental exit, where he openly questioned the constant speculation over his job security.
Chief Coach Ashifat Sulyman has been appointed to take charge of the team in an interim capacity. He is expected to lead the squad in their next NPFL fixture as the management begins the search for a permanent replacement.
Despite flashes of promise, including a morale-boosting 2–1 victory over Plateau United earlier in the season, Kwara United have failed to maintain consistency — a concern that ultimately cost Sanni his job.
With Sulyman now at the helm, fans will be hoping for a fresh start and an upturn in results as the Ilorin-based side seek stability and renewed confidence in the coming weeks.
