All Stars Association Hails ODSFA Boss Ogbonnaya for Driving Football Reforms, Club Success

The Ondo State chapter of the All Stars Association of Nigeria has applauded the Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Divine Ogbonnaya, for what it described as a refreshing leadership style that is repositioning football in the state.

In a statement signed by its President, Hon. Adebayo Abayomi (NFA), and made available to newsmen in Akure by the association’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Oluwafemi Filegbe, the group commended Ogbonnaya for his commitment to grassroots football and the empowerment of ex-footballers.

According to the association, ODSFA under Ogbonnaya has consistently engaged members of the body—many of them veterans of the game—by creating opportunities for employment, collaboration, and active involvement in football development programmes across the state.

Abayomi, who recalled the recent inauguration of Ogbonnaya as a Patron of the Association, praised his continued financial and moral support, particularly during the ongoing National All Stars Veterans Tournament in Lagos.

“The man (Ogbonnaya) is just starting, but he has started well. He is identifying vital areas, blocking loopholes in the agency, and engaging more of our members, who are former footballers, to develop grassroots football,” Abayomi said.

He further lauded the reforms being introduced by Ogbonnaya at ODSFA, urging detractors to support his vision rather than work against the progress being recorded in the state’s football sector.

The All Stars Association also congratulated Ogbonnaya on the recent promotion of Sunshine Queens to the Nigeria Women’s Premier League, describing the feat as a major boost for women’s football in Ondo State. It equally noted the level of preparedness of Sunshine Stars ahead of their Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign, expressing optimism about the club’s chances of securing promotion.

The statement called on all stakeholders to remain united and focused, stressing that Ogbonnaya’s reforms could set Ondo football on a stronger path of growth and stability.
