Former Nigerian youth international Emeka Amadi has backed the Flying Eagles to make a big impression in Chile after the team settled in Talca for their Group F campaign at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Amadi, who was part of the famous Saudi ’89 squad, said he is impressed with both the quality of the players and the thoroughness of their preparation.

“This team has shown hunger and discipline in their friendlies. Drawing against Chile and beating Australia in Santiago shows they are ready,” he said.
The Flying Eagles are lodged at Hotel Diego de Almagro and have already trained at Estadio Fiscal de Talca, where their opening match against Norway will hold on Monday, 29th September. Amadi believes a strong start in that fixture will give the team confidence to push further.
He praised head coach Aliyu Zubairu for instilling tactical awareness and organisation, noting that Nigeria’s six weeks of preparation is a luxury not many teams enjoy. “They should take advantage of that,” he added.
Amadi also urged fans to back the team fully: “These boys are talented and motivated. With support from Nigerians everywhere, I believe they can go deep in this tournament, maybe even all the way.
