AS Roma Women, aiming to get through qualifying for the fourth year in a row, had most of the play and seemed set to take a lead to Lisbon thanks to Lucia Di Guglielmo’s goal midway through the first half. However, substitute Carolina Santiago scored two minutes into added time and Telma Encarnação then claimed a dramatic winner to boost Sporting CP’s hopes of joining Benfica in the league phase.
Super falcons winger Rinsola Babajide was substituted for Allice Torelli in the 53rd minutes after pushing the team ahead. Shukurat Oladipo was an unused substitute in the defeat to Sporting.

Sporting scored twice in added time to win 2-1 at Roma, coming from a comeback or a late dramatic goal to seal the first leg advantage for the Portuguese side.
The second leg of the UEFA Women Champions League third qualifying round will come up 18th September, 2025 as AS Roma will travel to Portugal with (1-2) aggregate. Other results includes;
