National Youth Games: Enabulele Urges Edo Athletes to Do their Best

As team Edo leaves Benin city for Asaba, Delta state capital to participate in the 9th National Youth Games, the Executive Chairman, Edo State Sports Commission Hon Amadin Desmond Enabulele has urged the state’s athletes to let discipline remain their watchward and told them to remember that they ambassadors of Edo State at the Asaba Games.

‎The Edo State Sports Commission boss gave the charge while addressing the contingent during a brief ceremony shortly before their departure at the Samuel Ogbermudia stadium in Benin.

The Team Edo left Benin city with 366- man contingent made up 280 athletes who will be competing in 32 sports.

‎Recall that Edo state qualified in right ball games at the preceding Zonal Elimination Games in Uyo. The ball games include Football, Handball, Hockey, Rugby, Beach volleyball and among others.



‎Edo is particulating in Athletics, ‎Badminton, Chess, cricket, cycling, Dart, Deaf athletics, Golf, Gymnastics, Judo, karate, kickboxing, Kokowa kungfu, para athletics, para table tennis, Scrabble, squash, swimming, volleyball, boxing, Table Tennis, taekwondo, Tennis, weightlifting, wrestling, Beach volleyball, Football, Handball, Hockey, Rugby and Volleyball.

‎The 2025 National Youth Games is scheduled to hold between August 27 and September 6, 2025 with the theme ‘We Are The Future ‘ in Asaba, Delta state.

‎Meanwhile, the Edo State contingent has arrived safely at Asaba and settled in at the Anglican Girls College.
