The sporting spirit in Ifo, Ifo local government and it’s environs in Ogun State will soar this early October as the 8th edition of the Ibro-Peckham Marlians Football Championship takes centre stage. Organised by IFO Football Council, the competition promises an exciting showcase of young talent and community pride.
The tournament will officially opened on first week of October 2025, with the grand finale and closing ceremony scheduled for February 2026.
A total of 32 teams will battle for glory at Nawarudeen Primary School playing ground Olose Ifo Ogun State which was the single venue for the competition since inception.
The competition will feature 63 thrilling matches—from 32 teams to be slotted in 8 group of 4 teams each ensuring weeks of pulsating action for fans and scouts alike.
The eventual champions will take home two hundred pounds (£200) approximately over #400,000 as runners-up get hundred pounds (£100) which is over #200,000 when converted to naira.
The organisers emphasised that the aim is to nurture young talent, inspire sportsmanship, and encourage promising athletes to pursue professional careers.
Sports enthusiasts, families, and community members are expected to troop to the venues to cheer their favourite teams and witness the birth of the next generation of football stars.
The tournament speaks volume of grassroots football at its peak which is considered the foundation and is crucial for developing local talent, promoting inclusivity, and fostering a love for the game. This edition will feature teams across the Southwestern part of the nation

Last edition welcome the presence of the Super Eagles forward, former Shooting Star, Akwa United and JA Coutonou striker from the defending champion Juvenile Football Club. He currently joined Lynx FC in the Gibraltar Football League.
