Nigeria Sets Sights On More Medals As Ajabawa Princess, Ayuba Orihachi Enter U20 Women’s High Jump Final In Abeokuta

Team Nigeria’s hopes of adding to their medal tally at the ongoing CAA African U18 & U20 Athletics Championships have received a major boost as Ajabawa Princess and Ayuba Orihachi prepare to contest the final of the U20 Women’s High Jump in Abeokuta.

The duo will be aiming to build on the country’s encouraging start at the championships, following Nigeria’s first medal — a Bronze — secured in the U18 Men’s High Jump earlier in the competition.

With the crowd at the MKO Abiola Stadium expected to rally behind the home athletes, all eyes will be on Princess and Orihachi as they aim to deliver podium finishes and further establish Nigeria’s dominance in the jumps.

Their participation marks a strong statement of depth and potential in the high jump category, and with conditions in Abeokuta favourable, both athletes will be targeting personal bests and a place on the medal podium.
