Tems Dazzles at FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show as Chelsea Destroy PSG to Become World Champions

Nigerian Grammy Award-winning artist Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, lit up the MetLife Stadium with a spectacular halftime performance during the final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The show marked a historic moment as it was the first-ever halftime show at a FIFA Club World Cup final.

Tems headlined the star-studded musical display alongside global sensations Doja Cat and J Balvin, adding a cultural and musical spark to the night that captivated a global audience.

Speaking ahead of her performance, Tems said,

“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.”

This is not Tems’ first appearance at a Global Citizen event. She previously performed at the 2022 Global Citizen Festival in Accra, Ghana, further cementing her status as a global icon using her platform for social impact.

Colombian artist J Balvin, also thrilled to be part of the lineup, expressed gratitude for the opportunity:

“From Medellín to MetLife – I’m honored to headline the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup final. It’s a historic moment – for me, for Latin culture, and for every kid who dreams big.”

The expanded 2025 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup featured 32 teams from all continental confederations and was staged across 11 U.S. cities from June 14 to July 13.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the music partnership, calling it a “powerful symbol of unity and purpose,” while emphasizing the social impact of the initiative.

“Together, we are going to make history on a special occasion where football and music unite the world. Not only will this show be unforgettable, but with every ticket sold, we’re investing in the future of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.”

Global Citizen CEO, Hugh Evans, also echoed the sentiment:>l

“To end extreme poverty, we need to ensure every child has access to quality education. We’re asking football fans everywhere to step up and be part of the movement driving real change.”

Chelsea Crowned Club World Champions

On the pitch, Chelsea FC delivered a dominant performance, defeating Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3-0 in the final match.

Young star Cole Palmer was the hero of the night, scoring twice, while Joao Pedro sealed the win with a third goal in the second half.

The result gave Chelsea their first FIFA Club World Cup title under the expanded format, marking a triumphant end to a thrilling tournament.
