The tournament, held at the Notbad Sport Arena in collaboration with the Nigerian Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), brought together the nation’s finest players, but it was Basit who once again stole the spotlight with his trademark aggression and composure under pressure.
This latest triumph adds to what has been a stellar year for the young star, who has reached the final of every major domestic tournament he’s entered in 2025 — including a silver-medal finish at the National Sports Festival, where he was edged by Olympian Olajide Omotayo.
Basit’s current form underscores his growing reputation as the next big force in Nigerian table tennis, blending consistency with an evolving tactical maturity that has seen him rise through the national ranks.
With international competitions on the horizon, all eyes will be on Basit to see if he can translate his domestic dominance to the continental and global stage.
