Nigerian forward Adegbile Favor Onyemechi is setting his sights on a breakthrough campaign with Club Athlétique Bizertin as preparations intensify for the 2025/26 season in Tunisia’s Ligue Professionnelle 1.
The promising attacker, who joined the Tunisian outfit last season from Ilaji FC, managed only five appearances in his debut season — starting twice and coming off the bench in three matches.

However, the 18-year-old is now fully focused on increasing his playing time and making a more significant contribution to the team.
Speaking during the offseason, Favor reflected on the challenges of adapting to a new football culture. “The Tunisia league is very different from Nigeria in terms of structure and tactics,” he noted. “It took me time to adjust, but I’ve learned a lot and I’m working hard to fit into the system better.”
One of the high points of his season was featuring in a tense match against Stade Tunisien, which he described as his biggest game so far. “That game gave me confidence and showed me I can compete at this level,” he said.
Favor also took advantage of the offseason break to return to Nigeria, where he visited Mr. Shola Ibrahim, the proprietor of Giant Football Academy — the grassroots institution that helped shape his early career. During the visit, Mr. Ibrahim encouraged him to remain disciplined and serve as a good ambassador for the academy and young Nigerian footballers abroad.
Beyond personal goals, the forward revealed a long-term vision to support aspiring Nigerian talents. “Seeing how passionate Tunisians are about football inspires me. I hope to help more young Nigerian footballers chase their dreams in the future,” he added.
As the new season draws closer, Favor Onyemechi will be hoping to turn potential into performance and cement his place in the Club Athlétique Bizertin squad.
