As the curtain falls on a challenging yet inspiring debut campaign in the Nigerian National League (NNL), the Chief Executive Officer of Ijele Sports Club, Ferdinand A. Naza, has delivered a heartfelt end-of-season message to the club’s coaches, players, partners, sponsors, and passionate supporters.
Despite facing relegation to the Nationwide League One (NLO 1), Naza described the 2024/2025 season as one defined by “learning, growth, and gratitude.” In his statement, he praised the resilience and courage of the club during a campaign that tested their resolve on and off the pitch.

“Though the results did not always go our way, what cannot be disputed is the courage, belief, and growth that our team exhibited in the face of numerous challenges,” Naza noted.
The CEO acknowledged the various hurdles Ijele faced in their maiden professional league season, including logistical difficulties, questionable officiating, and systemic issues within the league.
Yet, he said, the team never lost its identity or pride, highlighting the club’s emphatic 2–0 victory over 2024 champions Beyond Limit FC as a symbolic high point that captured the potential of the young Enugu-based club.
Naza went on to commend the commitment and sacrifices of the technical crew, the fighting spirit of the players, and the unwavering support from fans and sponsors.
“To our coaches and technical staff, I salute your unyielding dedication… To our players, thank you for your passion, professionalism, and perseverance… To our supporters and fans, you are the heart of this club.”
He reserved special thanks for the club’s sponsors and partners, whose belief in Ijele Sports Club helped sustain their campaign through both triumphant and testing times.
Looking ahead, Naza affirmed that the club will not return to the NLO 1 with disappointment, but with “renewed focus and an iron resolve.” Plans are already underway to restructure and strengthen the team as they prepare to bounce back stronger.
“Let it be known: Ijele will be back. Stronger. Better. Wiser,” he declared.
The message ends with a rallying call to all stakeholders: “Together, we move forward. Together, we remain Ijele—the pride of the East, the heartbeat of the people.”
