Kabiru Dogo Takes Charge as El-Kanemi Warriors Begin New Era Ahead of NPFL Season

El-Kanemi Warriors have ushered in a new chapter with the official unveiling of Kabiru Dogo as their new Technical Adviser, signalling their intent to make a competitive statement in the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The former Kwara United and ABS FC boss was unveiled on Sunday in Maiduguri, taking over from Aliyu Zubairu, whose contract expired at the end of last season. Dogo, who started the previous NPFL campaign with Nasarawa United before parting ways mid-season, brings a wealth of top-flight experience and is expected to revitalise the club’s ambitions.

Club officials expressed confidence in Dogo’s ability to rebuild and reshape the team, emphasizing that his appointment comes at a critical time as El-Kanemi Warriors prepare to resume pre-season training next week.

Dogo’s primary task will be to mould a competitive squad capable of avoiding relegation battles and pushing for a respectable finish in the 2025/2026 NPFL season. His tactical depth and familiarity with the Nigerian league terrain could prove vital for a club eager to regain its former stature.

With pre-season around the corner, all eyes will be on the Maiduguri-based side to see how quickly the new leadership translates into performance on the pitch.
