Bayelsa United will return to the training ground on Saturday, June 28, 2025, as the club officially begins preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (#NPFL26) season.
The Yenagoa-based side, under the guidance of experienced tactician Ladan Bosso, will be aiming to build on last season’s mid-table finish.

The team ended the 2024/25 campaign in 11th position, a performance that left fans demanding more consistency and ambition.
Their journey in the President Federation Cup also came to a disappointing end, as they bowed out on penalties to Nasarawa United in the Round of 16 — a match that highlighted their need for sharper finishing and mental resilience under pressure.
Saturday’s resumption marks the beginning of what club insiders describe as a “rebuild season,” with a focus on squad reinforcement, tactical restructuring, and stronger fitness conditioning.
Bosso, known for his youth development expertise and tactical organization, is expected to ring some changes as he eyes a top-half finish and deeper cup runs in the new campaign.
Club supporters will be watching closely to see whether Bayelsa United can find the consistency required to challenge Nigeria’s top-tier clubs and avoid the drop zone early on.
The preseason will include a series of friendly matches and player assessments to fine-tune the team before the league kicks off later this year.
As the 2025/26 NPFL season draws nearer, expectations are rising in Yenagoa — and all eyes will be on Ladan Bosso and his team to deliver.
