After a goalless first half characterized by missed chances and tactical caution from both sides, the second half sprang to life when Jonathan Okechukwu broke the deadlock for Crown FC in the 49th minute. The forward capitalized on a defensive error to slot home the opener, silencing the Enugu crowd.
Despite a brief resurgence from Ijele FC, Crown doubled their lead in the 72nd minute through Mojeed Adekunle, who drilled home a low shot from the edge of the box after a sweeping counter-attack.
Ijele FC pulled one back late in the game, but it proved to be merely consolation as Crown FC held firm to seal an important win on the road.
The victory sees Crown FC maintain their momentum in the #NNL25 season, climbing the table and reinforcing their promotion ambitions. For Ijele FC, it’s back to the drawing board as they continue to search for consistency in what has been a mixed campaign so far.
