Ikene, Ogun State – Former Super Falcons goalkeeper, Judith Chime, has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to the growth of women’s football in Nigeria by donating 24 goalkeeper jerseys to the shot-stoppers of all six teams participating in the ongoing NWFL Super 6.
The gesture, which has received wide acclaim from players and officials, reflects Chime’s passion for developing goalkeeping talent in the country.
Representing the U.S.-based ex-international, program coordinator Ifeanyi Alaribe announced additional incentives: a cash prize of N200,000, a new pair of gloves, and an extra jersey for the Best Goalkeeper of the Season.
In further recognition of coaching efforts, Chime will also award N75,000 to the Best Goalkeeper Coach of the Season.
“Judith has always had a strong affection for goalkeeping. This is her way of giving back to the sport that shaped her life,” Alaribe said.
Renowned for her dominance and leadership during her playing days, Chime has remained active in grassroots football development. She currently offers a monthly N10,000 prize to the top-performing goalkeeper in the NWFL, promoting consistency and excellence.
The NWFL Super 6, being held in Ikene, showcases the league’s top six teams vying for the national championship. Chime’s contributions are seen as a major morale booster and have drawn praise from stakeholders, who hope more former players will emulate her support for women’s football development in Nigeria.
