Ojude Oba, the vibrant annual celebration of Ijebu heritage and unity, will be adding a new dimension in 2025 with the introduction of the Ojude Oba Cup Soccer Tournament.
Organized by the Management and Board of Ijebu United Football Club, this inaugural football event aims to deepen community engagement and empower youth through sports.

Scheduled for the eve of the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival, the tournament will take place at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
It will feature an exciting match-up between two of Ijebu Land’s top football clubs—Remo Stars FC and Ijebu United FC.
Remo Stars FC is a prominent Nigeria Premier Football League team, known for its impressive performances—finishing 3rd and 2nd in the last three seasons—and for representing Nigeria in continental competitions.
The club’s proprietor, Honourable Kunle Soname, also owns a football club in Portugal, further contributing to football development across borders.
Ijebu United FC, founded in 2018, plays in the Nigeria National League and is renowned for nurturing young talent and advancing the sport at the grassroots level.
The Ojude Oba Cup Soccer Tournament promises to be a thrilling addition to the festival, celebrating cultural pride through football while encouraging youth empowerment.
