Nigerian duo Adaobi Okah and Folorunsho Comfort are set to feature in top-tier football in the Czech Republic next season, following their club Ostrava’s promotion from the Czech 2. Liga Women over the weekend.
Ostrava secured a 1-0 victory against Ceske Budejovice, with Katerina Gaurova scoring the decisive goal in the 33rd minute to cap off a successful campaign.

Okah featured for 77 minutes before being substituted by Najvarova, while her compatriot Folorunsho remained on the bench throughout the encounter.
Despite finishing second with 49 points, Ostrava earned promotion because league leaders Sparta Prague B are ineligible for top-flight football—regulations prohibit two teams from the same club competing in the same division.
This milestone marks a significant achievement for both Okah and Folorunsho, as it is their debut season abroad. Before moving to Europe, they played in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership for Remo Stars Ladies and Edo Queens respectively.
