Aroyameh etched his name into Inter Lagos folklore with a string of firsts that defined the club’s rise in Nigerian football.
He became the first player to score for Inter Lagos at their home stadium in a league match, igniting a passionate fanbase and setting the tone for the club’s competitive journey.
As captain, Aroyameh also led the team to its first-ever domestic trophy triumph — a milestone that not only elevated the club’s profile but solidified his legacy as a leader both on and off the pitch.
His influence extended beyond national borders. Favour Aroyameh made history yet again by becoming the first Inter Lagos player to secure an international transfer, joining North Texas SC in the United States. Since his move, he has continued to impress, now donning the white of the American side and showcasing the talent nurtured back home in Nigeria.
“Aroyameh represents everything Inter Lagos stands for — ambition, resilience, and leadership,” said the club’s chairman in a statement. “Retiring his jersey is not just about honouring his achievements, but inspiring future generations who will walk in his footsteps.”
As Inter Lagos continues its journey, the legacy of jersey number 14 will remain a symbol of excellence — a permanent reminder of a captain who led by example and broke barriers.
