Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has kicked off their preparations for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a clear mission — to better last season’s mid-table finish and mount a serious challenge in the new campaign.
The Oluyole Warriors, who ended the 2024/25 season in 8th position, resumed training on Monday at the Awolowo Stadium, University of Ibadan, under the watchful eyes of Technical Adviser Gbenga Ogunbote.

In a rallying address to the players, Ogunbote urged the team to approach the new season with renewed focus, discipline, and ambition. He emphasized that the club must build on last season’s positives while aiming higher on the log.
“We’ve had our break, now it’s time to get back to work. We cannot afford to be complacent. The target is to improve on last season and give our fans something to truly cheer about,” Ogunbote said.
The club’s early return to training also signals a strategic move to ensure optimal fitness and tactical sharpness ahead of the NPFL kickoff scheduled for August 22, 2025.
With expectations high among the Ibadan faithful, 3SC’s preseason program is expected to include friendly matches and possible squad reinforcements as the team eyes a top-four finish or a continental slot.
The coming weeks will be crucial as Ogunbote and his technical crew shape the squad for what promises to be a fiercely competitive NPFL season
