3SC MAUL LOBI 5-0, THROUGH TO FINAL

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, produced a scintilating performance on Sunday as they whitewashed Lobi Stars of Making 5-0 in the first semi final of the maiden Dapo Abiodun Pre- Season Tournament.

Soccer lovers who thronged the Dipo Dina Stadium for the encounter, watched in awe as the coach Edith Agoye tutored Nigeria National League (NNL) side, take the Nigeria Professional League (NPFL) side to the cleaners.

The Oluyole Warriors made known their intention to carry the day with a Nojeem Olukokun easy tap in.

Hard fighting striker Rasheed Olaniran, capitalised on a defensive mix up by the Lobi Stars backline to snatch the ball, rolled it to an unmarked Olukokun who tapped the ball in effortlessly for the opener.

The second half was an all 3SC affair as the Ibadan soccer lords, completely dimmed Lobi Stars, with mercurial midfielder Ayobami Junior as the tormentor in chief.

Barely four minutes into the second half, Ayobami Junior doubled the lead for the Oluyole Warriors before Rasheed Olaniran added the third from the spot.

Taiwo Muritala scored a sublime goal afterwards, finishing off a spectacular solo run by Ayobami Junior, who tore the hapless Lobi Stars’ defense apart, before locating the right back, who curled the ball in to make it four.

Akilu Mohammed came off the bench to score the final goal, before goalkeeper Detan Ogundare denied Lobi Stars as goal, saving a penalty kick awarded the Makurdi side.
