The stage is set for the 2025 Ogun State Under-19 Male and Female Football League following the successful conduct of the official draw held at the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Secretariat in Abeokuta.
The event, which drew representatives from teams across the Abeokuta, Sagamu, and Ilaro zones, marked a key milestone ahead of the competition’s kickoff scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025.

In total, 21 teams will battle for honours in this year’s edition of the grassroots league, with matches to be played at three venues: MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Kuto (Abeokuta), Sagamu Stadium, and Ilaro Stadium.
Speaking at the draw, the Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi—represented by the Chairman of the Technical Committee, Dr. Bayo Oluwatoki—reiterated the Association’s commitment to youth development through football.
He emphasized the importance of discipline, fair play, and adherence to competition rules, urging all participating teams and coaches to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.
“The success of this league lies not only in the organization but also in the conduct of all stakeholders. Coaches are our partners in progress, and we expect teams to avoid any behavior that could undermine the objectives of this league,” Dr. Oluwatoki noted.
Meanwhile, the female version of the league, featuring four teams, is set to kick off a day later on Sunday, August 3, at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena.
The Ogun U-19 Football League has become a key platform for identifying young football talents across the state and promoting grassroots sports development in line with the goals of the Ogun FA.
