Oyo State contingents on Saturday were in superlative form as they muzzle more medals to consolidate their position on the log in the ongoing National Youth Games taking place in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The hard-working General Manager of Oyo State Sports Council, Mr Gboyega Makinde who has been with the contingent since day one said the team is seriously harnessing all available resources at their disposal to put the state higher on the log before the closing ceremony on Monday

While commending the state government led by the amiable sports-loving Governor, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde for the Keen interest he shows to the well being of the athletes, the General Manager said his athletes are in best of form to make the state happier than the previous editions

Addressing the Journalists, the Media Officer of Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mrs Olubukola Ibikunle, said the Oyo state athletes are really competing for every available medal which makes the team get to where they are. “I think we’re not just participating this year but competing in every event and it’s a pointer to where we are on the table”

“I think some of our athletes place high premium in mounting the podium for medals presentation” Ibikunle posited
