Zimbabwe’s Players Are Ready To Represent Their Country Positively – Kaitano Tembo

Warriors of Zimbabwe’s coach, Kaitano Tembo is beaming with confidence ahead of his team’s fixture against Nigeria this Tuesday at the 2026 Unity Cup in London, as he disclosed that his players are ready to represent their country positively.

Sports247 reports that Tembo is also happy with the relaxed atmosphere and unity among his players at their camp, which he believes is an indication that they are not under any pressure whatsoever heading into the opening encounter of this year’s Unity Cup.

Tembo also expressed satisfaction with the warm reception his team received on their arrival in London from Birmingham City, where they landed on Thursday to commence preparations for the competition that will also feature India and Jamaica.

He expressed satisfaction with the diplomatic reception they got from Zimbabwe’s high commissioner to Great Britain, Retired Colonel Christian Katsande, who hosted the delegation after their arrival in London and motivated the players towards Tuesday’s game.

The gaffer was equally excited that the occasion brought together members of the Zimbabwe community, government officials and supporters in a powerful show of national pride, which he believes boosted The Warriors’ aspirations for victory at The Valley.

“The players are in good spirits. The focus is on ensuring we are ready to represent Zimbabwe positively. These are important days for us. The players understand the responsibility that comes with wearing the national jersey,” the 55-year-old tactician disclosed.
