Zimbabwe’s captain, Marshall Munetsi has beefed up the ante ahead of his country’s clash with Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the 2026 Unity Cup in England, as he says he and his teammates want to give their fans something to be proud of.
Sports247 reports that, while recalling how they dragged the Super Eagles into two draws – home and away – during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Munetsi is of a view that The Warriors will not fall like a pack of cards against the Nigerians.

The 29-year-old midfielder also hinted that they will love to be in Saturday’s final against either India or Jamaica, but stressed that The Warriors’ focus for now is on Tuesday’s fixture at Charlton Athletic’s Valley Stadium in London.
Rather than feel cowed against the star-studded three-time African champions, Munetsi declared emphatically that Zimbabwe have also come of age and all the Warriors’ players know the importance of doing well to make their fans happy.
Munetsi, who plays alongside Nigeria’s Moses Simon at Paris FC of France, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers of England, added that all players in The Warriors’ camp are fired up ahead of Tuesday’s clash.
“We have big games coming, the first is against Nigeria, which everyone is looking forward to. We know how much these matches mean to Zimbabweans in the UK. We appreciate their support and want to give them something to be proud of,” Munetsi said.
