Master Freddie Destiny Ifechukwude, a participant in mixed martial arts at the All African Games, shared his experience of earning a bronze medal in the demonstration event. While participation is valued, he emphasized the necessity of continuous improvement and development to avoid stagnation and ensure success. “You can’t just be participating without improving… Everybody needs to develop himself,” he asserted, emphasizing the pursuit of excellence.
When asked about his most memorable fight, Ifechukwude pointed to his first-round submission victory as his greatest achievement. Describing the fight as quick and easy, he showcased his skills and dominance in the ring. However, he also acknowledged his most challenging bout, where he faced difficulty against a heavier opponent who managed to hold him down until the end of the round.
