The Nigerian forward played his part in an impressive team performance as the Hungarian champions took control of the tie with a composed display in front of their home supporters.

Ferencváros broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute through Gabi Kanichowsky. The Israeli midfielder produced a brilliant finish from outside the box after receiving a well-weighted assist from Lenny Joseph, beating the Braga goalkeeper with a precise left-footed strike.

The hosts carried their momentum into the second half and continued to threaten the Portuguese side’s defence. Their persistence paid off in the 69th minute when Cebrail Makreckis delivered a smart assist that allowed Joseph to find the back of the net with a composed right-footed finish, doubling Ferencváros’ advantage.

The victory gives Ferencváros a valuable edge ahead of the return leg as they aim to secure progression to the quarterfinal stage of the competition.

For Yusuf, his involvement once again highlights the growing influence of Nigerian players across European competitions.

The forward will now be hoping to build on this performance as Ferencváros prepares for the decisive second leg in Portugal, where they will look to protect their lead and advance further in the tournament.
