YSFON Mock Champions League Ends In Grand Style As Fr Eburuaja FC Emerge Champions

The closing ceremony of the 14th edition of Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFON Mock Champions League was indeed a memorable occasion as Fr Eburuaja Football Club (Manchester United) emerged as tournament champions after defeating Emmanuel FC dressed in an Int Milan jersey.

Fr Eburujah FC drew first blood when they netted the curtain raiser to take the lead and later extended the lead by 2-0 after scoring the second goal.

Emmanuel FC responded in the second half by pulling one back giving themselves a lifeline in the second half and when it looked like it was going to end that way, Fr Eburuaja FC conceded a penalty after Emmanuel FC mounted pressure on them for an equalizer.

It ended 2-2 in full time and then the game went straight to penalties.

The game went straight to penalties as Fr Eburujah won the penalties by 12-11 to emerge champions of the 14th edition of the YSFON mock champions league.

The winner Fr Eburujah received a cash price of two hundred and fifty thousand N250,000 Naira cash while Emmanuel FC received one hundred and fifty thousand Naira, N150,000.

Ravens FC received a gift as the best team award while individual player award like best goalkeeper and best player was also given.

YSFON Award of Excellence was given to dignitaries who have contributed positively to YSFON and to youth and sports development in the southeast.

Notable dignitaries graced the occasion of the grand finale and award presentation, Hon Dr. Mcdonald Ebere Ph.D. who was duly represented by the mayor of Owerri Municipal Council Hon Christian Nzeh, Hon Ikpamezie Innocent house member representing Mbaitoli, Hon Obidimma Elkana, Chief John Opara (Johnny be good) chairman LOC, Imo state FA chairman Barr Ifeanyi Dike (Fela) and others dignitaries who were also present.
