Young Stars FC Clinch N400,000 Winners’ Reward At Igando Ramadan Cup

Young Stars FC went home with a cash reward of N400,000 after emerging winners of the sixteenth edition of Igando Ramadan Cup last Sunday, with a 2-0 victory over Sterling City FC, Sports247 reports.

A 21st minute own goal was followed by Taofeek Saheed’s 47th minute strike for Young Stars, with assists on both sizzlers by Oscar Oderinde, who was introduced in the 19th minute of the match.

Ironically, before both goals that gave the win to Young Stars, Sterling City were in control of the game’s tempo, as they dictated play and controlled the flow of the ball with dominant possession.

Sports247 further reports that, apart from going home with the prize money for winners, Young Stars also lifted a giant trophy, while each of the players and officials got gold medals as well as packs of two kilogrammes of rice.

Sterling City FC went home with N200,000 plus a trophy, a complete set of jerseys as well as bags of rice for all the players and officials, which gave them a huge consolation at the end of the day’s action at Sansan Field, Igando.

There were also top prizes for individual performers, as Happy Ovieon of IG FC won the young best player award, oldest best player went to Kazeem Obayemi of Asemalu FC and best goalkeeper was received by Hamed Ajibade of Young Stars.

The MVP award was won by Oscar Oderinde of Young Stars, the Fair Play team of the tournament went to Sterling FC while best behaved coach award was won by Robert Eke of Jossam FC.

Best Coach of the tournament went to Abdullah Arolagbade of Young Stars, while Sheun Makinwa of Asemalu FC emerged as highest goal scorer, as everyone present hailed the competition sponsored by Prince GAS Global Sports Concept.
