Young Africans Set to Appoint Madagascar Coach Romuald Rakotondrabe on Two-Year Deal

Dar es Salaam – Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC are reportedly close to completing the signing of Madagascar national team coach Romuald Rakotondrabe on a two-year contract.

Rakotondrabe, who guided Madagascar to an impressive run at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) — reaching the final and finishing second in their World Cup qualifying group, just one point behind Ghana — has emerged as the club’s top choice to take over the technical bench.

The highly rated Malagasy tactician has earned widespread praise for his tactical intelligence and ability to build competitive teams with limited resources.

His success with the national team has drawn attention from several clubs across the continent, including Simba SC, who were also interested before eventually appointing Dimitri Pantev from Gaborone United in Botswana.

Sources indicate that Young Africans (Yanga SC) are seeking to finalize the deal swiftly as they look to replace coach Rome in Folz, who has come under pressure following a string of poor performances and inconsistent results.

If confirmed, Rakotondrabe’s arrival would signal a fresh chapter for the Jangwani giants, as they aim to restore dominance both domestically and on the continental stage. The appointment is expected to bring renewed tactical discipline and attacking creativity to a squad still brimming with potential but struggling for form.
