The stadium was filled with excitement as athletes from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory marched in, showcasing unity and national pride. The event featured vibrant cultural performances and enthusiastic cheers from spectators, creating a truly memorable opening.
Adeboye praised the Federal Government and the National Sports Commission for their continued commitment to inclusivity and the development of para sports in Nigeria.
“I must commend the Federal Government and the leadership of the National Sports Commission for creating this platform.
This is how we build a truly inclusive sports system where every talent is recognized and given the opportunity to shine.”
He emphasized that the National Para Games serve not only as a competition but also as a platform for empowerment and national integration.
“These Games are more than competition—they are a statement that every Nigerian matters. They show that sports can unite us, empower us, and give everyone a sense of belonging.”
Adeboye also encouraged the athletes to compete with pride and continue to represent Nigeria with excellence.
“As you compete, remember that you carry the hopes of a nation. Continue to give your best, continue to inspire, and continue to make Nigeria proud.”
The 3rd National Para Games, which runs from March 26 to April 3, 2026, features over 3,000 athletes competing in 15 different sports, making it one of the largest para-sport gatherings in the country’s history.
For Adeboye, the opening ceremony was not just colourful—it was a powerful reminder that true strength lies in resilience, and true greatness knows no limits.
