A promising young footballer from Yobe State, Abdullahi Yahaya, has expressed his ambition to play professional football in Europe following the recent news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract extension with Al-Nassr.
The 17-year-old winger currently plays for DGKK Football Academy in Yobe, where he is known for his exceptional pace, creativity, and technical skills on the left flank. Coaches at the academy describe him as “disciplined, focused, and full of promise.”

Yahaya says his ultimate dream is to meet Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who this week signed a two-year contract extension with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, keeping him at the club until 2027.
Ronaldo, 40, is set to continue earning one of the highest salaries in sports history, a move seen as a major commitment to football longevity and excellence.
“This kind of news motivates me,” Yahaya said in a brief interview after a local training session.
“Ronaldo is my idol. If he’s still going strong at 40, then I believe I can push hard to make it to the top too.”
DGKK officials say they are working to get the young winger more visibility through regional tournaments and scouting opportunities.
Abdullahi Yahaya’s determination and talent continue to draw attention in northern Nigeria’s youth football circles, with many tipping him as a potential breakout star in the coming years
