The thrilling final, held at the Mainland Tennis Club, National Theatre, Surulere, saw Isah stage a remarkable comeback to defeat Heman Afaramai of Opebi Senior Grammar School.
After dropping the opening set 2-6, Isah rallied strongly to claim the next two sets 6-4, 10-7, sealing a hard-fought victory.
The tournament, which marked a significant milestone for grassroots tennis development in Lagos State, featured over 100 student-athletes drawn from more than 50 secondary schools across the state, highlighting the growing interest in the sport at the school level.
Isah’s journey to the title was equally impressive. He secured his place in the final after a closely contested semifinal clash against Samuel Adegbite of Murtala Muhammad Airport School, demonstrating resilience and consistency throughout the competition.
The triumph adds to Isah’s growing reputation in junior tennis, having previously been named the Most Outstanding Player in the Boys’ category at the 2025 CBN Junior Tennis Championship.
Organised by Nigeria Tennis Live, the championship aims to discover and nurture young talents while providing a structured and competitive platform for aspiring student-athletes to showcase their skills.
The successful hosting of the inaugural tournament is expected to further boost tennis development initiatives across schools in Lagos and beyond.
