Nigeria will be represented by a strong contingent at the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships, with 15 athletes selected to compete across sprint, relay and field events in Oregon, United States.
The championships will take place from August 5 to 9 at Hayward Field, University of Oregon, bringing together more than 1,700 of the world’s leading junior athletes from nearly 200 countries.
Team Nigeria will be led by promising talents including Jessica Oji and Miracle Ezechukwu, who are entered in multiple events as the country targets podium finishes on the global stage.
Ezechukwu will compete in the women’s 100m and 200m and is also listed for the women’s 4x100m relay, while Oji will represent Nigeria in both the women’s shot put and discus throw.

On the men’s side, Gift Bright will compete in the 100m and 200m and is also part of the 4x100m relay team. Tejiri Godwin will join him in the 100m and relay, while Perfect Faye will contest the 200m and 4x100m.
David Udoh is entered in the men’s 400m and 4x100m relay, while Precious Opinion will compete in the men’s triple jump and also feature in the relay.
