Two players of Kwara Lady Football Club of Ilorin were among the selected 18 players of the Nigeria’s Under-17 women National Team, Flamingos who jet out to Conakry, Guinea on Wednesday for the first leg of their U-17 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Elizabeth Yemisi Samuel, a striker and Rofiat Imuran, who is a mid-fielder were among the two goalkeepers, five defenders, six midfielders and five forwards that traveled on Wednesday.

Yemisi was the highest goal scorer during their camping in Abuja, as she scored in all the friendly games she featured for the Flamingoes.

The striker, who was on loaned to Sunshine Queens of Akure in 2019 Nigeria Women Premier League has now moved to Osun Babes, also on loan while Rufiat is still on loan at Sunshine Queens.

The players, who will be led by stand-in coach Bankole Olowookere, will play against their Guinean counterparts on Saturday, with the return leg billed to hold at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on March 14.
